Proverbs perhaps best sums up the Biblical wisdom that is so applicable to us today on the day of our Diocesan Assembly, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Pr 16:3) As I have told you so often, I am always preaching to myself as well as to you all. We put in so much planning, process and care into our annual reports and the stewardship of this church-and that is the way it should be. But let’s remember who’s really in charge and our highest calling. Yes let’s not leave the lights on, but at the same time know that all the lights of this world dim and fade as we near life’s end. The one thing needed as we mature in life-as individual and as church-is to mature in faith, in hope and in love-because these three graces of God see best in the dark and guide us to the true light of the world, which will never be overcome by darkness,
