Hymn #4: Kreesdos Ee Mej

 1) How It Looks

We begin singing Kristos I Mej after the the second and most important of the two processions in the Divine Liturgy.  The Word of God, the Gospel, has already come to the altar.  Now God has come himself, via the chalice of bread and wine-graced to be His precious body and blood-thus we sing “Christ in our midst has been revealed.”   What is the proper response when the God who is love is revealed? We turn to each other in forgiveness and love and offer a holy kiss, for “by this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”–John 13:35 Click above to watch “Kreesdos Ee Mej” and the Kiss of Peace during Badarak at St. Sahag Mesrob Church in RI.

The word art below takes all the words of the hymn in Armenian, English and transliteration and weaves them into a beautiful picture.  The more often a word is used the larger the word appears.  What is the most important word in this hymn?  What does it mean that the church becomes one soul?  Who has brought this peace?

6) Bringing Worship To Life

When the chalice with bread and wine has been brought to the altar we sing “Christ in our midst has been revealed;” as God mysteriously comes to us through holy communion. But first he came to us in history; to the lands of Israel on a mission to save and heal mankind. This video is about 34 young adults (with some familiar faces) who went to Jerusalem to follow in the footsteps of Our Lord, and found Him revealed in surprising places.
