Yes, Jesus’ kingdom is not of this earth, but at the same time, God made this all for us, and Jesus has left us in charge until his return.  Several times on Sundays and hopefully every day, we pray as Jesus taught us; ‘Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.’   This world and that world are very different, but Jesus has pulled them near, and the church is the meeting place for this divine collision. God has carved out a sacred space in the world, the church, which is called to be a small working model of a new creation, an effective sign to all the world of what God has promised to do.
