The opioid crisis has taken center stage with its declaration as a national public health emergency. Sadly, it has also affected our church family; I like many priests have done several funerals of those who succumbed to addiction. On Tuesday October 31st, our Diocese organized a mandatory day-long workshop for clergy on opioid addiction. We are grateful that our church is being pro-active about this crisis. The pastor and parish council pray for all those in our community who are suffering from addiction, and want them to know that they can call Fr. Hovnan for a listening ear and an ally in facing their addiction.
