Sarkis Knyazyan

Sarkis is originally from Gyumri, Armenia and is an intellectual property (IP) attorney with extensive experience in IP law, education, and policy development. He earned his Master of Laws in Intellectual Property from the University of New Hampshire and further enriched his expertise through international programs. Professionally, Sarkis has been Vice President of Strategy and IP Liaison at California-based Arluys IP PC, Managing Partner at Knyazyan & Partners IP Law Firm (Armenia), and Head of IP Practice at Concern Dialog Law Firm (Armenia). Additionally, he has served as Legal Counsel for Arlex International Law Office and the American University of Armenia (AUA), as well as IP Advisor to Armenia’s Ministry of Economy and IP Expert for the Council of Europe and the World Intellectual Property Organization. A dedicated educator, Sarkis has been a lecturer at AUA since 2006, teaching Intellectual Property Law and has shared his insights on IP law at numerous global IP conferences. He has also co-authored scholarly papers on Armenia’s IP system and its challenges in transitioning to a knowledge-based economy. He has been married to Susanna Knyazyan since 2006, with whom he has three children. Sarkis and his family were part of church communities at St. Anna Church in Yerevan and Hovanavank in Ohanavan, Armenia. In 2022, Sarkis was honored as Godfather of Hovanavank’s Cross.
