So those are a few things that make is easier to speak about giving and money, but truth be told it is never easy.  It’s not easy because money is a powerful mirror and it can be hard to look in the mirror. But 2000 times in scripture and in today’s reading Paul says, look in that mirror, take that test, it’s the only way you’ll grow stronger and better. This is what you say you value, what does your checkbook say you value and what about your calendar? Do you really spend your time and money how you say you want to?   ‘Examine yourselves to see whether you are living in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you?’  Our faith cannot remain in our heads, it must be in our hearts, our checkbooks and calendars.   And with Jesus in our hearts, we know that all is gift and that we keep nothing in this life but what we give away, now and always.
